P+K joins HBO, American Airlines & Marriott Hotels in documenting the World War II veterans “Honor flight”

Person + Killian Photography was humbled to take part in documenting the World War II veterans “Honor flight”, that departed Boston last week.

A distinguished group of World War II veterans had the chance to visit the World War II Memorial for the first time, as part of a national initiative to honor members of the military.

In all, 250 WWII veterans who served in the Pacific traveled to Washington, DC from across the country on “Honor Flights,” special trips arranged by The Honor Flight Network to bring veterans to the nation’s capitol in order to see the memorials that honor their service to our country.

HBO, in partnership with American Airlines and Marriott Hotels & Resorts, sponsored these a special Honor Flights, timed to the premiere of The Pacific. The epic, 10-part miniseries is based on the true stories of WWII Marines who fought in the Pacific Theater.

Honor Flights departed March 10 from Boston, Chicago, Cleveland (serving veterans from the Akron-Canton area), New York and Orlando, with special send-off events at the gates in each city.

Thank you to all our World War II veterans and those who followed and continue to fight for our country every day.
