Cape Cod Wedding Weekend of Lauren & Alex

The month of June kicked off for Person + Killian Photography with the three-day Cape Cod wedding extravaganza of Lauren and Alex. We are so excited to share some of the photos of this beautiful celebration.

The couple describe themselves as "Total city kids that grew up going to the Cape every summer and just could not imagine getting married anywhere else. We wanted to be in our favorite location but incorporate the dramatic and glamorous aspects of an urban wedding. We decided on pearl and sea glass blues and greens for our color palate to bring in the shades of the beach without being too literal."

We started with the wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the Chatham Wayside Inn in downtown Chatham, MA. The bride and groom were joined by an intimate group of family and friends on a perfect Spring evening. After cocktail hour on the terrace everyone headed into the dining room for dinner and a few pre-wedding toasts.

The events of day two all took place at one of Cape Cod's luxury Oceanside wedding resort - the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club.

After Lauren and her bridal party finished getting ready in the Cape Villa it was off to the waterfront for the couple's "First Look". Pleasant Bay provided the perfect backdrop for all of the formal photos of both the couple and their wedding party prior to the ceremony.

One of the most fun elements of the whole weekend came with the personal touches the bride and groom put into all of the little details. We love that all guests were given sunglasses on their way down to the ceremony with a sign that said "You Might Be Blinded By Our Love"!

After a picture perfect ceremony it was off to the tent for cocktail hour. While guests relaxed and enjoyed hors' devours, they were encouraged to leave advise and well wishes for the newlyweds on Cape Cod postcards that were left in a vintage suitcase that matched the décor perfectly!

Lauren and Alex described the ceremony and cocktail hour as "bringing in the natural beauty of the Cape with blues and greens to complement the Wequassett's décor."

The main ballroom looked absolutely stunning and included custom-made white linens from Be Our Guest rentals and chandeliers, draping and lighting from Ormonde Productions.

Lauren described the inspiration for the reception as "Capturing the urban "wow" glamour with dramatic white on the tables and tall calla lilies in glass vases".

As a wedding favor, guests were given hand-painted aprons by Blue Water Fish Rubbings that included one of the couple's favorite recipes.

Day three of the weekend celebration continued when the guests traveled from Chatham down to Wellfleet to the Chequessett Yacht & Country Club for a post wedding brunch and clam bake.

The official "host" of the Clambake was the couple's pooch Tugg (a mini-poodle mix) who took a few moments to pose with the newlyweds for a few photos during the festivities.

Congratulations Lauren and Alex. It was an absolute pleasure capturing your beautiful wedding weekend. We had a blast!

The Ritz Carlton, Boston - Holiday Soiree | Event Decor and Culinary Photography

Recently, we were asked to photograph the 2010 Holiday Soiree for The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common.

The event came together with the joint efforts of the Ritz staff and culinary team (led by Ritz Executive Chef Fabian Ludwig). Lending their talents were some of Boston’s finest event professionals that included floral designs by Winston Flowers, decor by PBD Events, rentals from Be Our Guest and music by "DJ Deja", Denise LaCarubba.

Thank you to everyone at the Ritz for thinking of Person + Killian to capture this beautiful event. Below are some of our favorite shots of the decor and decadent cuisine from the evening!

Jaclyn and Trevor's Wedding Weekend | Part II - Chatham Bars Inn Cape Cod Wedding

When former Springfield news anchor Jaclyn Cashman (daughter of Boston construction boss Jay Cashman) married fellow Boston College grad and Cashman Inc. exec C. Trevor Childs, Person + Killian Photography was there to capture it all.

Following Friday’s beach party and lobster bake on Cashman’s private island off the coast of Chatham was Saturday’s spectacular wedding. Celebrating the events of the weekend alongside the couple were their parents, Jay and his wife, actress and executive producer of “The Kids Are All Right” Christy Scott Cashman, Trevor’s mom Laurie Jones (Managing editor of Vogue), Best man and Trevor’s dad, artist C. Frederick Childs and Jaclyn’s mom Linda Cashman-Belton.

After the ceremony where the bride walked down the isle in a spectacular dress by Christos at Saks Fifth Avenue it was off to the South Lawn of the Chatham Bars Inn for a 1940’s inspired cocktail hour and reception.

The party featured an array of surprises and entertainment for the 200+ guests including the White Heat Swing Orchestra, photo booth with props (always a hit) and both an espresso and cigar bar. One of the biggest hits of the night was The Zoo Band that traveled to Chatham from New York City. The reception concluded with a custom fireworks display over the water.

Even though the reception had ended, the party continued into the early hours of the morning when CBI’s Monomoy Meeting House was transformed into a nightclub complete with DJ, floor to ceiling uplighting and everyone’s favorite late night snacks.

Capturing the weekend alongside P+K were Boston Globe Photographer Bill Brett and Boston Herald Photographer Arthur Pollock who were on hand to take a few images of the couple and their guests. Even the New York Times featured an article on this incredible weekend of events.

It was an absolute thrill having the opportunity to photograph this amazing weekend, which was all planned by Allison Wildes Liset of Elegant Engagements. Congratulations to newlyweds Jaclyn and Trevor and thank you to you and your amazing families for being so accommodating and wonderful to work with.
